2023 in Progress: March Recap
How is it that I am writing my March monthly reflections half-way into April! It’s taken me nearly two weeks to process that we’re in a new month. Throughout March, I have been trying to increase my adventurous side and spend more time outdoors. In southern California we had a lot of rain this season and I am obsessing over all the green hills and flowers blooming all around me. What did I learn this month?
- Throughout my pregnancy and maternity leave I did not know what career goals or aspirations I would have. I felt super apprehensive about change and felt super comfortable with my work family. Now that I have been working for 2 months and my baby is 5 months, I feel pleasantly surprised by my new work ambitions and career questions I have been pondering lately. This is something I am seeking to unpack more this new quarter.
- My baby girl is going through another growth spurt and has been cluster feeding. My breast have felt really tender and I don’t know what to expect. I am nervous that I may produce more milk and wonder if I will get another milk duct clog- l think I’ve been clog-free since early December and I’d like to keep it that way. When I pump at work, I am trying to figure out if I should be increasing my pumping.
What am I proud of?
- I have been strong nursing for 5 months and pumping at work for 2 months now!
- We moved into a new home in early February, our yard is finally cleared of the nasty weeds that were there prior to us moving in. It finally feels a little more homey.
- My baby girl is currently being babysat by my beloved Auntie. It’s been awesome dropping her off on the way to work and seeing my Aunt regularly. It’s a special routine now where I get to share new memories with my family and have multiple family members watch her grow in real life!
