One thing about me is I love many things dealing with organization and creating systems that help us operate long term. In late 2024 I began my research on possibly adopting a more flexible planning system like the bullet journal method to help me manage my day-to-day and only track what I felt I needed. Part of the problem I was facing in 2024 was a huge career transition and feeling overstimulated and blind-sided by all the new things motherhood…
Generally speaking I have always been a one notebook or planner type of person. Since embarking motherhood I felt motivated to expand a little with the goal of capturing more moments via journaling and incorporating a home binder for our growing family needs. Although it looks like many notebooks to manage each has a unique purpose in my personal everyday life and home life. This year I decided to reduce my online presence and eliminate social media so that I could focus on these next big goals without added pressure or comparison. 2024 was a particularly vulnerable moment for me because I intentionally put myself in a period of isolation to further hone in what’s important this season and take action towards these priorities; eliminating digital distractions. 2024 was a bigger year that I could have imagined for myself. When I initially scheduled our trip to Italy early spring, we did some research around the prospect of hopping on the train and visiting another city. Our goal was to visit a coastal city, however, we couldn’t settle on where and how we would manage all the in between with a toddler. About one month prior to our departure we settled on Genoa where I was able to find a beautiful Airbnb in Recco with spectacular oceanside views. In retrospect,…
To celebrate a few family milestones we booked our first international trip with a toddler. The planner in me watched and read a total of 30 resources preparing for long flights with toddlers, packing minimal in Europe, and sightseeing in Bologna. Perhaps a sign of my first-time jitters of embarking such a long flight with a toddler but also first international flight since the pandemic. All in all, our flights were as smooth as flights with little ones can go…
